A Curious Herbarium

Porcelain.
2019

Based on the research related to botanical gardens, synesthetic experiences and the loss of vision, A Curious Herbarium is about the disappearance of color in order to give presence to the fragile and enhance the sense of touch. Inspired by the braille writing, the pieces are constructed by delicate dots or tough traces that are leading the reconstruction of different flowers. Starting by an experimental process, the porcelain adopts the thickness of paper, a material that represents the suggestion of fragility.

This is how the porcelain and its delicate texture placed in a white background evokes the idea of the possibility of the invisible.
